Total Damage : SGD $225

My first impression:
My first thought of getting a tripod is that i need to get a tripod deployed with at least the height of 1.5m (with center column down), because of my height (1.75m) .
My first target was Manfrotto 055XPROB with 496RC2, but the damage calculated was $218 + $120 = $338.
The major turn off for the Manfrotto tripod is the weight of it, 2.4KG with the ball head not calculated.

TK Foto offers alot of variety of tripod, from the most expensive Gitzo to Manfrotto to Sirui to Benro to Silk and lastly Velbon. And Ballhead from Markin to Manfrotto to Sirui. I spent roughly 3months to read through all the possible tripod brands that fits my height. And during this period i was tempted to buy Francier tripod  which was sold online for $58. But i have to remind myself not to spend unnecessary extra money.

To those who are reading my blog, my advice on getting a tripod is that.
1) It is good to get a tripod with less section, but lesser section = more bulky as the tripod leg will be longer.
2) Depend on your height, get the tripod that will allow you to deploy and use without extending the centra column as much.
3) Decide what kind of shot you are doing with your tripod and  whether you want a ballhead, a pan tilt head or a geared head.
4) Save up, even if you are dying for a tripod. Getting a right tripod will save your money for a long time.

You can refer to this website for more explantion on selecting and using a tripod.

D.I.Y Fisheye filter

The project started of with the idea of using a old spec and place it in front of the lens and you will have the fisheye effect.

Verdict : No possible
I’ve then move on the the door viewer idea, but placing the door viewer in  the centre of the lens (well wit filter, so as no to scratch my lens) … Cover it up nicely , u will get a nice door viewer fisheye effect …

Verdict: Possible ( but need to experiment out more for clearer image)
